Through donations, offerings, and fundraisers, money is raised for building of a new home in Mexico. Church volunteers cover the cost of their own transportation, food and insurance. Many donations of clothes are given from church member.

A caravan of pickup trucks makes the journey south to the border. Once in Tijuana, Mexico a youth center there provides our sleeping quarters for Friday night and then construction takes place all day Saturday.

Many members from Zion and Faith Lutheran Church have joined in the mission over the years. Together they have been able to build on average two homes per year. Working closely with Lutheran Border Concerns Ministry in San Diego, many families in Mexico have been able to have their basic shelter needs met.

The Lutheran Border Concerns Ministry, is an independent, Inter-Lutheran, non-profit, incorporated in California in 1967 to supplement ongoing Lutheran efforts with Latin Americans on both sides of the border. All programs are supported solely through voluntary contributions.
